Mirror, mirror on the wall.
What’s behind that fated call?
He’s the seer of present, future, and past,
Yet remains a nameless face entombed in glass.

Raised as a servant in the underwater kingdom of Atlantica, Alastor worked his way up to a regal member of the Royal Guard. Only as a decorated soldier did he stand a chance of winning the hand of the woman he’s loved since childhood … Poseidon’s only daughter, Princess Vanessa. But, when the war against humans rages, dark magics are evoked to give the mermen a fighting chance. Temporarily granted legs, they charge from the sea into a doomed battle.

Doing the bidding of his masters as a trusted pawn,
The claims of his loyalty couldn’t be more wrong.

Waking on land, with bodies all around, Alastor’s lone goal becomes returning to the ocean and the only life he’s ever known. A plan that is quickly diverted when Hades, Lord of the Underworld, appears with a twisted agenda all his own. Cast to a land far from the lapping comforts of home, Alastor’s sole companion is a troubled misfit named Sterling that soon comes to depend on him. Trained to be a hero, how far is Alastor willing to go to return to the woman he loves? And can he live with the sacrifices he’s forced to make?

Each day he schemes to break free from their thrall,
and honor a self-made vow … to kill them all.

This being a series, I knew another book was coming so I intentionally left some questions unanswered. The biggest one being, will Alastor and Vanessa find their way back to each other? The answer to that, we will all find out in the next book. I know some readers will be disappointed that this book doesn’t lead to their happily ever after, but that was intentional. Entombed in Glass was never meant to be their story. It is Alastor’s journey to his own unfortunate destiny. But, I will say that their love story isn’t over. One way or another, those star-crossed lovers will get a second shot at their happy ending. I make that promise on an enchanted rose and everything. 😉

Sterling is another big mystery. Why is he the way that he is, and what has he been through? I cannot wait to delve into his backstory in book three! He will be the star of that one. That will be all kinds of fun, because he is mad in a truly entertaining way. But as he likes to say, “All the best people are.” He may be one of my favorite characters that I have ever written, he’s just an entertaining little imp. I also wonder if readers have figured out which fairy tale character he is? That will be revealed in the next book as well. Many will even figure it out when I have the cover reveal, so stay tuned for that. Another question I have comes for Sterling’s numerous mentions of finding his way back to “his Alice.” I am eager to meet his version of her and learn more about what forced them apart.

And, of course, every story needs its villains and this series has loads of them. Amphrite, Hades, and Persephone are dastardly evil in their own vile ways. Will any of them every get their comeuppance? How much more will they inflict on poor unfortunate souls before that day comes? I truly love this series, and I am just as eager as my readers to see what comes next in this fairy tale world!
