I did it all for you…
Cara’s boyfriend is dead.
When fingers start pointing at her, she knows she’s in more trouble than she originally thought. Because Cara can see that something isn’t right.
As her carefully constructed life begins to crumble, Cara isn’t sure who she is anymore.
But maybe that’s exactly what someone wants her to think…
Cara believed that her biggest problem was breaking up with her boyfriend before he left for college and still manage to salvage her popularity. However, Joe turns up dead and when foul play is suspected, Cara is quick to blame.
The plot ranges from the superficiality of high school politics to well kept family secrets. With the help of an acquaintance from her past who seems to have an odd interest in her, Cara starts an investigation on her own while being hounded by the detective in charge of her boyfriend’s case. Cara’s search for answers is balanced with the murderous and mysterious E who is searching for a girl named Sylvia. E’s moments in the tie closer and closer to Cara’s experiences and provide insight and background to the deeper mystery.
The creepy and suspenseful aspects were promising, but were never fully able to hold the tension the novel needed. The ending was a little different from the normal stalker stories, but was still predictable and left room for a possible sequel.
